Six schools win sweepstakes titles at KSPA state contest

Shawnee Mission East, Andover, Piper, Caney Valley, Humboldt and Western Plains high schools won sweepstakes titles at Saturday’s KSPA state contest at the Kansas Union at the University of Kansas in Lawrence.

More than 1,000 students from 95 schools competed in carry-in and on-site contests. More than 50 judges pored over the 1,277 entries. First-place entries earned 5 points, second-place entries earned 4, third-place 3 and all honorable mentions earned 1 point each.
