KC Press Club Scholarship due May 1

The Kansas City Press Club is now accepting applications for the 2015-2016 William B. Moorhead journalism scholarship.  This year, the award is expected to be about $2,000 for an outstanding high school senior who plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in journalism.  The winner can renew the Moorhead scholarship in each of the three following years as long as he or she remains in good academic standing.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Intend to pursue a four-year journalism degreeat one of the following institutions: the University of Missouri-Columbia, University of Kansas at Lawrence, or Kansas State University in Manhattan.
  • Currently maintain a 3.0 scholastic average on a 4.0 scale.
  • Submit applications by May 1, 2015, with all required attachments.

Please find an introductory letter and the application that the press club asks you to give to qualified students at your school.  Because the press club makes a special effort to attract minority applicants, they request that you please bring this scholarship to the attention of eligible minority students at your school.
