The 2011 digital yearbook from Kapaun Mt. Carmel has been named a Pacemaker finalist in the National Scholastic Press Association’s annual competition. “The Crusader” is just one of six digital yearbooks nationwide to earn the award.
Drew McDonough served as the yearbook’s editor, and Ashley Perkins as its adviser.
Previously two news websites from Kansas high schools — Harbinger Online from Shawnee Mission East and Jagwire News Online from Mill Valley — and yearbooks from three Shawnee Mission schools — East, North and Northwest — were named Pacemaker finalists.
All six publications will be up for scholastic journalism’s highest honor in April at the NSPA national convention in Seattle.
